From the 23rd of April to the 10th of May the President paid a visit to the United States where he participated in the general conference of the United Methodist Church (UMC) in Charlotte (North Carolina). During this trip he visited the Methodist Building in Washington (the office for the Commission of the Church and Society, the Council of UMC Bishops and the National Council of the Churches), Ellis Island Museum in New York, the city of Valdese (meeting with the representatives of the American Waldensian Society), and lastly, a place for migrants crossing the wall between Arizona and Mexico in Tucson.
